Once again it's time to play for our annual fundraiser for our own Island charity - "Friends Of Callawassie Island"
We are pleased to play for the Foundations "Lowcountry Lifetime Achievement Awards" ceremony. This 250 person, black tie event honors Lowcountry residents that have made outstanding contributions. It also awards a scholarship to a deserving local student and raises funds to support the mission of the Foundation which is the development and implementation of Leadership Education curriculum in local schools.
Moss Creek held a "Rewind: A 60's to 80's Party" that was a complete sellout. Thanks to the Hipsters policy of playing at no charge for charity, they raised over $10,000 for their charity fund that supports needy Lowcountry non-profits. The dance floor was filled all night for the 90 minute event.
The band played a free concert for our fellow islanders to thank them for their support. It was kicked off with an appearance Elwood and Jake Blues, newly released from the Joliet State Prison...what at gas!!!
The Hipsters played a benefit concert on Callawassie that raised $3,000 for Noah's Ark Rescue, a charity that rescues and rehabilitates abused animals.
“Our 60's themed fundraiser "Revolution" was a sell out and raised nearly $7,000 for our island charity...would recommend it to other groups as well” - Bitt Dennis
